CONTRACT AWARD

• U.S. Filter - Hayden Bridge Filter Rebuilds for N-4 and N-6 - Water Engineering - Water Division. This purchase is for underdrains to be installed as part of the filter upgrade program at Hayden Bridge. The underdrains are for 2001 projects included in the proposed budget. The underdrains need to be ordered now so they can be fabricated, installed and tested before summer. Delivery is planned for February, 2001.

These underdrains have a unique design that works well in the remodel of the existing filters. Six filters have been upgraded using these underdrains and six more are proposed in the filter upgrade program. PQ-164 was approved because of the successful installation of this product. No other underdrains have been found that work as well. Cost for project is $161,613. Contact person is Ron Wilson, 484-2411, ext. 3224.

• Fairbanks Morse - Water Engineering - Water Division. This purchase is for new finish water pumps to be installed as part of the Hayden Bridge Reservoir, Pumping Station and Electric Upgrade project. The costs for the pumps are included in the 2001 and 2002 budgets for the project.

The pumps are being ordered now so the pumping station and electrical equipment can be designed. The pumps will be delivered in 2002 when the pumping station is constructed and the pumps can be mounted in place. Cost for project is $862,206. Contact person is Ron Wilson (see memo in Board packet).

• Empire Building Maintenance - Vehicle Washing Services - Shop - Facilities Services. This contract is for the bid award for five years to the Vehicle Washing Services at $25,000 per year (total, $125,000). Funds are included in the 2001 budget. • Jerry Brown Company - Fueling Contract - Shop - Facilities Services. This contract is to extend the fueling contract with Jerry Brown Company one more year through 2001 for an additional $140,000.
