BUSINESS SERVICE AGREEMENTS
- RAC Timber & Excavating - Leaburg-Walterville Power Canal Maintenance - Electric Division. Staff recommends executing a contract with RAC Timber & Excavating for removal and disposal of approximately 1,000 tree stumps on the Leaburg-Walterville Power Canals. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has directed EWEB to complete this work by September 30, 2003. Bids were solicited and two contractors responded. Both bidders were responsive to the requirements of the solicitation and the selection was based on lowest price for the work. The aggressive schedule requires EWEB to proceed with award of this contract by August 6, 2003. The requirement to do this work was not known prior to Board approval of the 2003 canal maintenance budget. Funding will be acquired through transfers from other generation O&M and capital accounts. Amount of the contract is $180,675. Contact person is Jay L'Estrange 434-5751 or <

- Denslow Repair & Service Center (R&SC) - Leaburg Tailrace Barrier - Electric Division. Staff recommends executing a contract with (R&SC) for purchase of a trash raking system for the Leaburg Tailrace Barrier. Denslow (R&SC) specializes in custom machines for applications such as this. Denslow R&SC has manufactured approximately 25 trash raking machines for similar custom applications since the mid-1980's. Staff did an extensive search for other suitable manufacturers' of equipment that would meet the Tailrace Barrier custom requirements and found none. The trash raking function is to clean the 250-foot length of the picket barrier which is sloped at a 45 degree angle as well as to hoist the picket barrier rack sections for maintenance and storage. The cost of this procurement contract is $102,335 and is included in the Leaburg-Walterville relicensing budget. Contact person is Gale Banry, 344-6311, ext. 3413.
