Who can participate

Approximately 25 percent of the septic systems in the McKenzie watershed have been identified as posing the highest risk to drinking water sources because they meet all of the following criteria:

  • Clustered with other septic systems on smaller lots
  • Located adjacent to ditches, lakes, streams or rivers
  • Located on thin or excessively permeable soils
