Water quality
The Eugene Water & Electric Board's water quality is truly extraordinary. Due in part to our pure source, the McKenzie River, nearly 200,000 EWEB water consumers are getting some of the cleanest, tastiest water on the planet.

So good, in fact, that Organic Style magazine has named EWEB's water the best in the nation.

EWEB’s extensive treatment process allows it to easily meet all federal and state water quality requirements. In fact, EWEB’s water has never violated a state or federal water quality standard.

Watershed protection
EWEB has an aggressive program designed to keep the source of our drinking water, the McKenzie River, clean and pure for the citizens of Eugene. Learn more about what we're doing to keep your water healthy and safe.

Annual water quality report
Read the Water Quality Report we publish annually in compliance with federal law.

Water chemical analysis
More than 85,000 tests and checks are conducted annually by EWEB technicians and independent laboratories to ensure EWEB's water treatment process provides the highest quality water. The results show that EWEB's water quality far exceeds the standards set by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency and the Oregon Health Division.

See also the Oregon Department of Human Services Drinking Water Program's website for additional reports on EWEB's drinking water.

Backflow prevention
Unexpected changes in pressure can cause water to flow backward, creating a potential water pipe contamination problem. Learn how to prevent this from happening.

Backflow training classes
EWEB sponsors backflow prevention training for contractors. Get the latest schedule.
