EWEB offering free water at Eugene 08 Festival

Stop by the Eugene Water & Electric Board's newly designed H20 Oasis Booth to quench your thirst during the Olympic Track and Field Team Trials, June 27 to July 6.

The booth is located near the main entrance to Hayward Field at 15th Avenue and Agate Street in the Eugene 08 Festival area. Visitors will enjoy free, refreshing water and a cool place to rest their feet as they explore the festival or prepare to watch the events. The booth is powered by EWEB's solar Sun Rover.

EWEB helps "green" Olympic Track and Field Team Trials

EWEB has worked closely with the Olympic Track and Field Team Trial's Sustainability Subcommittee to help ensure the June 27 to July 6 event is not only healthy for the athletes, but also for the planet. EWEB's involvement includes the following:

  • The entire 10-day event will run on 100 percent EWEB Greenpower, the utility's voluntary renewable energy program.
  • The festival will feature EWEB's Sun Rover as a demonstration of solar electricity.
  • With EWEB's help, the University of Oregon upgraded Hayward Field with an energy-efficient lighting control system and scoreboard.
  • EWEB will provide temporary electric service in place of diesel generators.
  • EWEB has identified and reviewed electric feeder configurations to maximize electric reliability at the University of Oregon, Autzen Stadium (Emergency Operations Center) and Sacred Heart Medical Center.
  • EWEB has provided labor and materials for a running trail from the Autzen Footbridge, along EWEB's steam line, to Pre's Trail.
  • The newly designed EWEB Oasis booth will provide complimentary water for thirsty festival-goers during the event. The booth will be located near the main entrance at 15th Avenue and Agate Street.
  • EWEB will also provide refreshing water to Butte to Butte Road Race participants on July 4.
