John H. Brown
John H. Brown joined EWEB's Board of Commissioners in January 2007. He represented the entire city in the
at-large position during his first four-year term. John was re-elected in 2011 to represent wards 4 & 5.
He is currently serving as vice president of the board.
John's primary area of interest is protection of the water supply. He has been involved
with river issues for more than three decades.
John was a real estate appraiser for 28 years with the firm of Duncan & Brown.
Since 2005, he has been a principal with Evans, Elder & Brown, a commercial
real estate brokerage.
In addition to EWEB, he is on the board of the Lane Metropolitan
Partnership, a group whose core mission is to provide economic leadership for greater
Lane County. John also serves on the board for Willamette Family.
His past community service includes membership on the board of directors for the
Relief Nursery, the Eugene Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Eugene, Inc. and the Downtown
Commission. He is a former member of the Eugene Police Commission, a past president
of the Cal Young Neighborhood Association and a past chairperson of the Willakenzie
Planning Team.
