Commissioners
A five-member Board of Commissioners, elected by the citizens of Eugene, governs
the Eugene Water & Electric Board. Four board members represent specific wards within
the city; the fifth member is elected "at-large" by all city voters. Each commissioner's
term is four years.
Commissioners hold regularly scheduled public meetings on the first and third Tuesdays
of each month in the North Building at EWEB, 500 E. Fourth Ave. All meeting agendas and most supporting documents are made available
in the meetings and agendas
section of the web site.
Citizen-owners and customers can communicate with EWEB's elected board in a variety
of ways. E-mail may be sent to individual commissioners from their web pages listed
above. You may also send EWEB a message that will be forwarded
to all five commissioners. Written communications also may be sent to commissioners
at the following address:
P.O. Box 10148
Eugene, OR 97440
Opportunity for public comment also is provided at each board meeting. The board
meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month (work sessions often
are held at 5:30 p.m.; check agendas for exact time).
Each regular 7:30 p.m. meeting contains a "public input" agenda item, when citizens
or customers can address the board about any issue. Those wishing to speak are asked
to fill out a sign-up card, available at the meeting. Speakers are heard in the
order in which they sign up. Usually, three minutes is allowed for individual comments.
