Hundreds attend public presentation of riverfront redevelopment design concept
About 300 community members attended the March 3 public presentation of the overall design concept for
redevelopment of EWEB's riverfront property.
Following a presentation by Rowell Brokaw Architects, attendees were invited to share ideas about how to
represent history and culture within the plan.
Participants also had a chance to electronically vote on their level of satisfaction with design elements
including open space, building heights, street placement and landscape options. Immediate results showed that
a large majority of attendees had positive impressions of the design.
The Community Advisory Team and project architects will use all feedback gathered at the event to continue
to develop the riverfront master plan.
This was the third public meeting for the project. The fourth, and final, public
meeting is a "Master Plan Open House," currently scheduled for May. Following that meeting, the final master
plan will be presented to EWEB's Board of Commissioners for approval.
